How To Use This Data

Gather Quality Contact Files and Research Data
The DataJoe National Marketplace is a gathering of data lists created by business journals across the country that partner with DataJoe.  These lists are a rich combination of contacts files and research data for analysis. Looking for good, accurate contacts? Looking for characteristics to help you distinguish between companies such as revenues or number of employees? Looking to get a local perspective on the power players in a region or industry? Looking for genuine business intelligence?  It’s all here.

Every major market in the United States has a business journal.  Some business journals focus on huge markets (e.g. Crain’s Chicago Business), and some focus in with needlepoint accuracy on smaller markets (e.g. Greater Wilmington Business). The emphasis is quality not quantity. It’s editorial data, so it must meet the highest standards of journalistic accuracy and integrity. These business journals stake their reputations on it.

In building a ranked list, the business journal creates a true-to-life snapshot of the power players in its region, from a completely local perspective. The business journals survey each company individually, often multiple times a year.  The participating companies provide deep insight about themselves as this is a requirement for inclusion on a list. As a result, business journal lists are ripe with local insight and accurate information. The companies contacted for information are compelled to participate in order to accurately represent their position and prestige in a community of peers.

Spreadsheets and PDF formats
Because you can find lists of data organized by industry and/or region, you’ll get a snapshot of what is happening in a certain business sector in an entire geographic area, not just one city.  A majority of the products available for purchase are in spreadsheet format, but may include additional contact lists of data, also in spreadsheet format. If this is the case, your file will be delivered to you in a .zip file, which will allow you to download all files at once and extract only the files you need once the download is complete. Some files may be an individual PDF of the list, therefore, read the product details carefully to make sure you are downloading the best file for your purposes.

Upon checkout, you will be required to accept an End User License Agreement which will verify that you won’t be sharing the data you download with any other company, resell the data or use the data for spamming. You are free to import data into your CRM, use it for marketing campaigns or to find new leads for your business.  If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact us at contact@datajoe.com.

How To Find What You’re Looking For
